Selecting the Editor Type
With Tiki you can use two different editors when entering content:
- Plain Text
Don't let the name "plain" fool you. Tiki's text editor is quite powerful and allows you to use full full wiki syntax, buttons and toolbars, wiki plugins, HTML, and even JQ expressions! - WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get)
If you've ever used a word processor, you be right at home with Tiki's WYSIWYG editor. Although possibly easier to use, it isn't quite as powerful as the text editor.
- For now, select Only Plain Text Editor.
- Leave the other options as their defaults and click Save and Continue. Tiki saves the changes and loads the next wizard page.
Text Area
Even though we're using the Plain text editor, there are some additional options we can enable.
- Turn on the Code Editor option.
Note
We'll discuss the Code Highlighter later in this guide. - In the Syntax highlighter field, select default.
- Leave the other options as their defaults and click Save and Continue. Tiki saves the changes and loads the next wizard page.
